Each year, Be The Change MN has been the bridge connecting underrepresented youth and families to the resources, experiences, and support systems they need to thrive. We believe that powerful change starts with purposeful relationships and fostering a network of engaged community members.
This is where you come in. We bring together corporate leaders, residents, business owners, and passionate individuals to create a force for good. We believe that by forging meaningful connections, positive change becomes inevitable.

Back To School Night
Each year, Be The Change MN proudly sponsors a Back to School Night at a Minneapolis elementary school—creating more than just an event, but a meaningful celebration of unity, care, and opportunity for students, families, and the surrounding community.
Families can expect an evening rooted in connection and joy—complete with soul food picnics, games, prizes, and plenty of laughter. At the heart of the experience is a spirit of giving, where every smile and every filled backpack represents hope, confidence, and preparation for the new school year. With access to groceries, school supplies, and essential resources, families leave feeling supported, encouraged, and ready to start strong.
The experience also features meaningful community engagement opportunities, including:
- Access to essential health resources through the Children’s Minnesota Mobile Clinic Bus
- Interactive, hands-on experiences with the Minneapolis Fire Department, inspiring youth and building trust with local heroes
This event reflects what’s possible when strong partnerships come together with a shared commitment to uplifting families and strengthening communities.

Because of this support, students walk away confident, families feel seen and valued, and the broader community is reminded of the impact we can create when we come together.

Winter Wonderland

Each year, Be The Change MN transforms Nickelodeon Universe inside Mall of America into a Winter Wonderland — a magical day of joy, family connection, and belonging for students and families from four elementary schools in underrepresented communities across the Twin Cities.
This unforgettable experience removes all financial barriers, allowing every child to simply be a kid — to laugh, play, and create lasting memories alongside their families and classmates. It also provides a meaningful opportunity for families to reconnect with teachers and school staff outside the classroom — in a fun, organic environment that strengthens relationships and builds trust between schools and the communities they serve.
With over 200 volunteers, community partners, and sponsors like Build-A-Bear, LEGO Mall of America, Toys for Tots, and many more, Winter Wonderland is a true celebration of what’s possible when the community comes together to lift one another up.
From the moment the doors open, families are surrounded by warmth, kindness, and excitement — from free rides and activities to special gifts, music, and surprises around every corner. It’s more than an event; it’s a day that embodies hope, inclusion, and the power of community to make magic happen.
Speaker Series
This event is designed to spark meaningful change through conversation. We’ve created this Speaker Series to provide members of the community a platform to share their experiences via an open and
honest environment.
The chosen Speakers will provide guidance & education on relevant issues impacting families & youth. The goal is to offer helpful tools/resources to participants, so they feel empowered to start having tough conversations at home that will help strengthen our communities.
